Terms and disclaimer

Last updated: November 2026

These terms apply when you use this website, including the free check and the guide. By using the site you agree to them. Firm Footing is a project being set up in Queensland, Australia, and it isn't trading yet. In these terms, "Firm Footing", "we" and "us" means the person running it, who you can contact at [[CONTACT EMAIL]]. When Firm Footing starts trading, we'll update these terms with its registered business details.

In plain English: this site gives general information to help you understand the NDIS registration changes. It isn't legal advice, it can't tell you for certain whether you must register, and the rules are still being finalised. Check with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission before you make decisions.

1. We're independent

Firm Footing is independent. We're not part of, or endorsed by, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing or any other part of the Australian Government. We're not an approved quality auditor. We use "NDIS" only to describe the scheme our information is about.

2. General information, not advice

Everything on this site, including the check results and the guide, is general information. It isn't legal, financial or professional advice, and it doesn't take your full circumstances into account. Using the site doesn't make you our client.

The check gives you a result based on your answers and on what the government had announced at the date shown with your result. It can't tell you for certain whether you need to register, which registration groups you need, or which audit you'll face. Only the NDIS Commission can confirm that.

3. The rules are still changing

At the time of writing, the government hasn't published the final list of supports that will need registration, the order of the rollout, or the transition rules. We check government sources and update the site, but we can't promise it's complete or up to date at the moment you read it. Each page shows when we last checked it.

4. No guarantees about registration or audits

We don't make registration decisions or conduct audits, and we can't guarantee that you'll be registered or pass an audit. Those decisions belong to the NDIS Commission and approved quality auditors.

5. Using the site

Please:

6. Paid products

We don't sell anything on this site yet. If we offer a paid readiness pack in future, it will come with its own terms, which you'll see before you pay.

7. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded.

8. Limits on our liability

The check and guide are free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site, including decisions you make about registration, audits or your business. Where the law doesn't allow us to exclude liability but does allow us to limit it, our liability is limited to supplying the information again.

9. Links to other sites

We link to government and other websites so you can check our sources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

10. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version on this page when you use the site is the one that applies.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
