About Firm Footing
Firm Footing is a small, independent Australian project. It isn't trading yet: for now it's just this free check and guide. We're not auditors, and we're not lawyers. The check is built from public information published by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, the NDIA and the NDIS Commission, and we update it as new details come out.
We're also building a fixed-price readiness pack for early 2027. Before we sell it, every pack will be checked by an experienced NDIS auditor or consultant, and we'll name them here. Until then, the check and the guide are free.
Questions people ask
Is this an official government tool?
No. Firm Footing is independent. We're not part of, or endorsed by, the NDIA, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission or the Australian Government. For a definite answer about your situation, contact the NDIS Commission.
Will this tell me for certain whether I need to register?
No. The final list of supports hasn't been published, so nobody can tell you for certain yet. The check tells you how your supports line up with what's been announced so far, and we'll update it when the list comes out.
Do I have to give my email?
No. You see your result straight away. At the end you can choose to join our email list if you'd like an update when the official list is published.
Do you keep my answers?
We keep your answers without your name or contact details, so we can see which supports come up most and how many providers are likely to be affected. If you join the email list, we link your answers to your email so our updates can match your situation. Our privacy policy has the details.
What does registration cost?
The NDIS Commission charges no application fee, but you pay an approved quality auditor, and auditors set their own prices. Consultants publish estimates from about $900 for the simpler verification audit to $3,000 to $15,000 or more for a certification audit. Get quotes from auditors before you budget.
What's the readiness pack?
A fixed-price pack we're building for early 2027: policies tailored to the supports you actually deliver, a checklist of the evidence auditors ask for, and a review by an experienced NDIS auditor or consultant. It isn't available yet. Join the email list at the end of the check to hear when it is.
